I wanted to compose music that paid tribute to the Americas, the United States in particular. I used the term “American” because I think it is impossible to compose music about the United States without recognizing the influence of all the Americas.
The first piece of this opus is “To The Brave”. It is a tribute to my father and all of the brave men and women who have served our country.
