About Me

The Passion of the Guitar

A lonely silhouette: guitar, guitarist.

A long shadow of melancholy melodies flickering slowly in a setting sun.

Desolate yet hopeful, the song drifting forward on a breeze warm and dry,

Down the dusty pathways, down the river to the soul, blossoming in the heart.

The passion of the guitar, touching those needing to be touched,

Warming those needing to be warmed,

Saving those needing salvation.

A long shadow of melancholy melodies flickering slowly in  a setting sun.

A lonely silhouette: guitar, guitarist.

Biography

I think I was born with a guitar in my hand. When I was a small child I always carried with me a red, cardboard and plastic Roy Rogers guitar. My parents told me I wouldn’t let it go. At the time I didn’t even know what it was but I knew I had to have it with me at all times.

I was heavily influenced by the 60’s rock and roll I heard while I was in grade school, graduating to heavier rock in the 70’s and then losing myself in the blues while in high school and college.  A move to California in 1978 opened up new musical doors.

In 1984 I began studying flamenco guitar with the great Mariano Cordoba. This changed my life. Never underestimate the value of a wonderful teacher. My playing reached levels I never thought possible.
