Did you know that the 1931 classic horror movie “Frankenstein” had no music? At the time, the movie studios did not know how to add a second soundtrack. There are versions of the movie available today that have had music added. The version frequently shown on TV has music during the “It’s alive!” scene that is hilariously inappropriate for the action on the screen.

Composer Michael Shaprio has recently written a film score for Frankenstein that orchestras can perform along with screenings of the film.
